We rigorously test and review the IP surveillance products we carry to ensure they perform to specifications and are easy to integrate with our standalone network video recorders. Most network cameras we sell have PoE connectivity built-in, making them easy to use with any NVR with built-in PoE switch. Watch the video on the top of this page to learn more about how easy it is to setup our IP Security Camera Systems using PoE technology. Although there are several advantages to using IP based cameras, the main ones are 1) resolution support beyond 1080P, and 2) guaranteed connectivity with CAT5e or better network cabling. For customers looking to build a future-proof security camera system, IP cameras are the best choice!

Standard features of all of our systems include motion activated recording, remote access via the Internet, indoor and outdoor cameras, and infrared night vision to see in complete darkness. NETLINKS IT SOLUTIONS is proud to offer standalone camera systems available in Analog, HD Over Coax, and Digital IP signal types.

Security DVRs

Remote viewing from computer, Smartphone, or tablet

All of NETLINKS IT SOLUTIONS security DVRs come standard with advanced features including HD resolution recording, motion activated recording, email motion alerts, and ability to make your own hybrid system using IP cameras. We offer a variety of security recorders ranging from 4 channel, 8 channel, 16 channel and 32 channel to match your needs. NETLINKS IT SOLUTIONS Digital Video Recorders are made to be used with analog SECURITY CAMERAS or HD over Coax cameras like HDCVI cameras that send HD video over RG59 coax cabling. DVR recorders use Siamese BNC cabling that conveniently provides video and power over a single cable. Our NVRs come with built-in Power Over Ethernet (PoE) ports that are designed for wired IP security cameras, using only one cable to connect to the camera. Whether your system requires a DVR or NVR, you can stream live video to your Smartphone, tablet or computer.

Security Cameras with Audio

Security Cameras with Audio have built-in microphones that allow easy recording of audio from the camera to the DVR recorder. The built-in mic is usually sensitive enough to hear sounds from up to 40ft away in a quiet room. Although results vary based on ambient noise, these Security Cameras with Microphones below are a great way to record both video and audio.

For analog signal type cameras, we recommend using our 50ft Audio Video Power Cables or 150ft Audio Video Power Cables that make camera cable installation simple since the cable contains connectors for audio + video + DC Power. For HDCVI type cameras, you don’t need a cable with an audio connector as audio is combined with the video signal; you simply need an HD Siamese Cable or a roll of RG59 Coax. For IP cameras with audio, the audio/video/power signals are carried over one network cable.

Night Vision Security Cameras

At NETLINKS IT SOLUTIONS we deeply believe in quality products. All the cameras we sell including these night vision security cameras record crisp, clear video even in complete darkness. The days of grainy nighttime video are long gone! We offer a variety of resolutions ranging from 600TVL CCTV Cameras to 4K 12 Megapixel IP cameras. All Infrared Night Vision cameras have Day & Night technology that allows the cameras to switch to black & white mode in low light. There are mainly 3 different types of video signal types, i.e. Analog, HDCVI, and IP. Please be sure to select the signal type compatible with your security recorder.

Dome Cameras for Outdoor and Indoor Use

In our Dome Camera section, you will find both indoor and outdoor dome SECURITY CAMERAS. The most popular are Night Vision and Vandal Proof Cameras which are a great way to keep an eye on your property where the camera must be mounted near arms reach. The vandal resistant casing feature of dome cameras allows for protection against tampering, and light blows, making them perfect for high traffic areas like an apartment or school hallways. The infrared night vision enables the camera to see in darkness, and the varifocal lens where available allows the camera to be adjusted to attain the best angle of view. We feature all types of dome security cameras here. Please be sure to choose the camera that is compatible with Security DVR type by using the Signal Type filter below to choose from Analog, HDCVI, and IP based signals.

Security Cameras with Motorized Optical Zoom

Digital Zoom vs.Optical Zoom

Every security camera has digital zoom available when used with our security DVR recorders, and is actually useful in HD security cameras with resolutions of 1080P and higher. We say practically useful because when a video of low-resolution cameras is magnified, it gets pixilated and is of no use in discerning detail like faces or license plates at a distance. As concerns digital zoom, the rule of thumb is: the higher the resolution of the camera, the better the quality of the digital zoom. 1080P, 3MP, 4MP, and 4K resolution security footage has varying degrees of digital zoom available, with 4K being the most detailed.

Optical Zoom refers to the camera optics providing the zoom as opposed to digital zoom provided by software on the camera or DVR to “magnify the picture.” Optical zoom provides the best quality of zoom as it is like using a pair of binoculars to see farther away. With optical zoom cameras, the lens inside the camera actually needs to move to provide zoom. While digital zoom can be done after the video has been recorded, optical zoom needs to be executed or set in a live video at the actual moment the incident of interest happens.

Outdoor Security Cameras Buyer’s Guide

This is a quick guide to choosing the best surveillance camera for your system. There are a few key elements to consider when choosing your outdoor camera:

Camera Shape:

  • Bullet Cameras
    • The most popular shape for a CCTV camera for outdoor use is a bullet or cylindrical shaped. Compared to a fixed dome camera, bullet camera casing allows a lot of infrared to be built-in to the camera to achieve infrared distances above 100ft for night vision in complete darkness. You can find cameras without infrared, or with infrared night vision ranging from 60ft to 300ft. They also offer mounting flexibility with the 3 axis mount that allows camera mounting to a wall, pole, ceiling, eaves or overhang.
  • Dome Cameras
    • Dome cameras are ideal for locations where they may be subject to tampering, or a surveillance camera with a small footprint is needed to make it less conspicuous. Vandal-proof dome cameras are by far the most popular type for such use. Infrared night vision distance is limited to a maximum of 130ft since dome casing is small. Camera size varies from 3 – 5 inches in diameter and can be mounted on a wall, ceiling, or underneath eaves.
  • Pan Tilt Zoom Cameras
    • PTZ are larger cameras ranging 5 to 9 inches in diameter. Their main use is in surveillance applications where there is an actual guard controlling the camera and monitoring passersby. Their large size is due to a motorized assembly within that moves the camera in 360 degrees, and zooming capability with the motorized lens. Best use scenarios are retail stores, shopping malls, train stations, and airports. Auto tracking PTZ cameras also allow the camera to follow persons in low traffic scenarios to track trespasser movement.
  • Box Cameras
    • Box cameras are professional cameras that are composed of a camera and lens inside an enclosure camera housing to protect it from the weather. They are particularly useful in demanding weather and have also shown to outlast dome and bullet cameras. If the camera were to fail, it is very simple and cost-effective to replace the actual camera component. Likewise, if the CCTV lens inside were to malfunction or the housing got damaged; only the part needed can be replaced. Box cameras are available with heater blower housings to withstand extreme hot or cold temperatures, with infrared & fan housings, or a simple outdoor housing without a fan or heating element. Box cameras with housing are also a great fit for customers wanting to build their own outdoor professional wireless camera. Simply add a wireless transmitter and use its matching wireless receiver to transmit video wirelessly up to 3 miles.

IP Weather Proof rating
As mentioned above weatherproof ratings are important for outdoor security cameras and are related to the construction material of the camera. All outdoor cameras sold by NETLINKS IT SOLUTIONS have an IP66 rating at the least, meaning the camera can withstand direct contact with water, rain, snow, and sand up to a certain pressure level. You can be confident that our outdoor cameras are built to last in common outdoor environments, and we also offer security cameras with higher weatherproof ratings up to IP68 that can withstand more exposure to rain or water, and in some cases submersion.

Resolution

Analog Security Cameras up to 1000TVL

  • Non-high definition CCTV cameras that use BNC video connectors are also referred to as analog cameras. These types of cameras are now available in resolutions up to 1000TVL (TV Lines). At an 80-degree viewing angle, you can expect facial clarity up to 10 feet away from analog cameras and general detail up to hundreds of feet. Of course, you can obtain more clarity by using an analog CCTV camera with a higher mm lens like 22mm or 50mm to see further.
  • HD Security Cameras
    • For situations where more clarity than an Analog CCTV Camera is needed, we recommend using a megapixel camera which is also referred to as an HD security cameras. You can expect facial clarity up to 20ft away with a 1-megapixel resolution camera at an 80-degree angle of view. The higher the megapixel (MP) resolution, the farther the camera can see. There are two main types of HD surveillance cameras that we carry:
      • HDCVI Security Cameras- allow resolutions up to 2 megapixels to be sent over RG59U coax cable
      • IP Security Cameras – allow limitless resolutions to be transmitted over CAT5e or CAT6 cable

Lens
CCTV cameras are available with a fixed or variable zoom lens. Variable zoom lens is also referred to as Varifocal Lens, and unless specified as motorized, they are manual lenses that can be adjusted by hand at the camera using a screwdriver or Allen key. When choosing a camera it is important to consider how far will the subject(s) be from the camera. A 2.8mm or 3.6mm lens combined with a 1/3″ CCD is used for a 90 or 80-degree angle of view, respectively. If you are looking for a long range camera to see a face 40ft away, we suggest using a varifocal bullet camera with a lens of 9-22mm or 5-50mm. Facial detail up to 100ft away can be captured using a 50mm lens, and up to 140ft away using a 100mm lens.

Night Vision
Night vision for a camera is provided by infrared LED bulbs located concentrically around the camera lens. Infrared light is only visible to the camera and invisible to the human eye. Passersby would see only a slight red glow from the IR LEDs in darkness when they are near the camera. Night vision distance is determined by the intensity of the IR LEDs and the number of LEDs. For example, we carry bullet cameras with 72 IR high-intensity LEDs that emit the same amount of night vision as the ones with 10 SUPER IR LEDs. Both achieve night vision up to 260ft away.

Video Output Connection
Video connection type needs to be considered when choosing a CCTV camera for an existing system. There are two common video connections in the CCTV industry, i.e. BNC and RJ45. BNC is shared by 3 video signal types so it is very important to make sure you are buying the right type of camera for your system. Professional analog cameras use BNC connections. New technology such as HDSDI and HDVI cameras also use BNC and send high definition video over coaxial cable, but these HD cameras are not compatible with DVRs that accept analog CCTV signals.
RJ45 connections are network connections used commonly by IP cameras that support limitless megapixel resolution capability. RJ45 connections allow IP cameras to be connected to a computer network and recorded to an NVR recorder or computer server.

Voltage

  • 12V DC – Most common in the CCTV industry
  • 24V AC – Popular with professional CCTV installers for its ability to carry power over distances upwards of 300 feet compared to DC 12V cameras
  • POE – Power over Ethernet is a power transmission method for network IP cameras over Network Cabling.
